Our theme here at Greater Friendship Baptist Church is, “The Church in the Heart of the City – With the City in its Heart.” This sets the tone for our mission thrust, and the purpose for which we serve our Christ.
Our love and excitement for God is exemplified largely in our passionate worship experiences. Since worship services are usually the first experience one has with the church, it’s important to us to seek to create an environment in worship that provides for an encounter with the living God. We have talented choirs, spirit-filled musicians, excellent preaching and a state-of-the-art multimedia experience during the entire service.
Our passion for people is played out through everyone’s involvement in the various mission groups, and opportunities that we have for our youth to be an active part of what we do as a church. While we have a large crowd for Sunday morning worship, we become small through the ministries that are available for you to be part of each week. They are the place where we not only learn about our faith but also where we take care of one another. Our passion for people is also exemplified through our desire for everyone to feel welcome, regardless of background, life stage, race, ethnicity, or any other characteristic that may describe you.
Our passion to serve means that we are here to serve one another, both in the church, in our community, and in the world. We seek to provide specific opportunities for everyone to have a place of service.
